Principal's Message

On Thursday 29th January the doors were opened to another school year at Lakes Entrance Secondary College.

We began the day with a whole school assembly,  where I delivered a brief introduction into who I am and what my core beliefs are when it comes to educating young people. This was followed by welcoming our new Year 7 cohort and welcoming back all students Year 8-12 as well as introducing Chris Jarvis and Raj Lal (our newest teachers to the school).

I outlined the challenge of meeting the individual needs of our young people in attendance and the goal to create an environment that engages all to attend more regularly that will result in more positive academic outcomes. The challenge put to the students was to reframe their thinking and see staff as allies and support people to success.

The team of teachers and education support staff have been nothing but warm, welcoming, and motivated to embrace change and improve many aspects of the school.

The students have provided youthful enthusiasm on their return and have been willing to engage with me to start building a positive working relationship in 2026.

We are excited about what this school year has in store and what we can collectively achieve as the LESC community.

The year will throw up challenges, that’s inevitable working with teenage learners, however if we all collectively pull in the same direction (school and home), we can overcome those challenges.

Thank you to everyone that has taken the time to introduce themselves and welcome me, I am so happy to be a part of Lakes Entrance Secondary College and wider community. I am extremely pleased with the start of the year and how all students and adults have returned with a positive outlook.
