Foodbank Victoria is the largest food relief organisation in Victoria, which rescues and redistributes millions of kilograms of food each year to community groups, schools and charities. They aim to support Victorians experiencing food insecurity with access to nutritious meals while also reducing food waste.

Gisborne Secondary College are fortunate to be in partnership with Foodbank Victoria.  We know that students need energy to concentrate, learn and succeed in the day.    Foodbank Victoria supports us to provide fruit free-of-charge to students, available in the Junior and Senior School buildings most days.   We are also able to provide lunch items for students who come to school without food—students can visit the Junior School Office for this support.

In addition, we can provide a limited number of Home Food Packs to support families. These packs include a range of pantry items such as cereal, baked beans, tinned spaghetti, long-life milk, soup packs, tuna and rice bowls, and fruit cups. If this would be helpful for you and your family, please contact simone.moore@education.vic.gov.au

We are always looking at ways we can support students and hope to introduce a Breakfast Club later in the year.  We are reaching out to local businesses and the school community for donations of kitchen equipment such as mugs, bowls, plates, cutlery, dishwashing detergent, sponges, tea towels and Ziplock bags.  If you are able to support us with this, we would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
