Student Leadership Team

We have had a wonderful and successful start to Term 2, with students returning settled, engaged and ready for learning. A key priority this term is elevating Student Voice, particularly through the upcoming Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS). Our Student Leaders have already been working hard behind the scenes to support this important work and ensure student perspectives are valued and heard. Over the coming weeks, they will begin delivering presentations to year levels, helping peers better understand the purpose of AtoSS, why their voice matters, and how their feedback can help shape positive change at our College. We are proud of the leadership, initiative and commitment our students are showing as they prepare to lead this important work.

As always, please read below to hear from our student leaders.

So far, we have had a great start to term 2. On the first week back, Tuesday we had our second whole school assembly for the year. It was a ANZAC assembly, honouring those who served and fought for our country in World War 1. Thanks to all who were being respectful during this time, and it truly means a lot.

The whole school’s athletics carnival day is coming up on Friday 29th of May in Melton. Many classes lately have been practising and training for the upcoming events. The sports carnival will be going on for the whole day and will be defiantly a fun competitive day for many students.

Wishing you all a great beginning to term 2!

I hope you enjoyed the easter break, because I certainly enjoyed the time with family and friends. The holidays freshened and cleared my mind ready for term two! Term two is usually very busy in building on knowledge and goals. Remember to stay organized and support each other weather it's in class, on the field or during an excursion. In this term I would like to see more kindness, inclusion and cooperation with each other, even to those who look or sound different, because we are all human, and at the end of the day it doesn't matter how different someone is. And to those who don't believe this, you are missing out on great friends just because you assume someone's personality just on how they look or where they are from. Remember even the smallest act of kindness can make a huge difference on someone's day.

Term 2 has gotten off to a great start, especially with our ANZAC assembly, which was a huge success. It was a really important moment for the whole school to come together and show our genuine respect, and it really set a positive, thoughtful tone for the rest of the term. It was an amazing moment for the school community and a great way to kick things off before we get stuck into the busy weeks ahead. There is plenty to look forward to, including the excitement of the ski camp coming up in just a couple of weeks. Additionally, students who are doing Humanities this semester are preparing to visit the Holocaust Museum next Tuesday, which will be a powerful experience. It is going to be a packed and rewarding term for everyone involved.

In term 2 us Year 11’s have come back to an exciting first week. We started the first week back with our first Deb practice on the Monday, for the upcoming Debutante Balls, which ran from 3:30pm till 6:00pm. Quite a few of us have come back to either finishing SACs or starting them, with the VCE drama class going on an excursion into the city. On Tuesday the 21st of April, a school wide assembly was held for Anzac Day in remembrance for those who fought for our country (Lest We Forget).
