Oberon High Interschool Sport – Weeks 1 to 4 Recap
Over the first month of Term 3, our students have been out representing Oberon High across a wide variety of sports. We’ve seen fantastic participation and effort in:
- Senior Boys & Girls Basketball - An impressive dunk from Lachie Hatty was a highlight, but as per SSV rules dunking = technical foul
- Intermediate Boys & Girls Soccer, Badminton, Boys Hockey, Girls Netball - The Boys Hockey team even beat eventual winners Belmont High (5-1) in one of their round-robin match ups
- Senior Boys & Girls Badminton, Senior Boys Hockey, Soccer, Senior Girls Netball
- Year 8 Girls Hockey – despite a tough 19–0 loss to Matthew Flinders, spirits were high and the team showed great resilience.
- Year 7 Boys Hockey, Basketball and Year 7 Girls Volleyball
It’s been a brilliant few weeks filled with fun, friendly competition, and the chance for students to make new friends and memories. A huge thank you to all the staff who gave their time to coach and supervise, and to the parents for supporting their children’s involvement in the program.
Intermediate Girls Hockey- Wednesday 30th July
Despite a gloomy start to the day, our 11 Hockeyroos were treated to some great winter weather for 3 back to back games of hockey. With only one session of training behind them, they took up the challenge in all 3 games. A close game against Belmont HS, followed by the extraordinary display of rep players against Matthew Flinders and finally a very even game against Northern Bay.
Shout outs to Matilda Riley and Eva Belleville in goals for great saves and kicks.
Sound defence from Casey Armistead and Tahlia Feldman.
Great midfield play from Shannon Fisher and Diyana Bidar who were able to direct play put to forwards Rhiannon Stevenson and Ayda McGinness.
Maya Atkins, Mia Belleville and Lexi West played soundly in the centre.
Well done girls. Look forward to seeing you on the pitch in 2026!
