PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

School Production

Our school production Cops ‘n’ Robbers took place from Friday 8th till Sunday 10th August.  Congratulations to all the staff and students involved in this production especially Michele Crichton who was the driving force in bringing this event together. The script was written by year 12 students Jayden Adcock and Christian Arnott and year 11 student Akira Parker, who were creatively assisted by Annie Robertson (year 12). Christian also stepped up to direct the production.

Thank you to all of the school community who attended one of the four performances, your attendance and support is always appreciated by those involved.

Public Speaking Festival

The Oberon High School Public Speaking Festival concluded on Thursday 7th August.  Well done to all of the students that participated in this wonderful learning experience.  Thank you to Ms Jo Anglin who organised the event and to the English teachers who have supported students with their preparation.

Covered Walkways

A Covered Walkways project which we have planned for more than 18 months has finally been approved by the Victorian School Building Authority.  We have appointed BDH Constructions to complete the project.  Work will begin during the term three school holidays and continue into term four.  Once completed this will provide cover for our students on the southern side of the C and D block and also northern side of B block.

Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey

The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. We encourage families to participate in this survey. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey will begin on Monday 18th August and conclude on Friday 19th September.  A link to the survey will be distributed via email shortly.

Year 7 enrolments 2026

We have offered placements to prospective year 7 students for the 2026 school year and these enrolments have now nearly all been confirmed. We continue to see the same trend that we have seen over the last few years, that being there is great demand from the community to seek a place at Oberon High School.
