We will begin the term with a focus on reviewing the school NORMS and Help Seeking Strategies. The students will have the opportunity to reflect upon their aspirations and achievements from Term 2 and will work on developing Integrity and Resilience. Students will set Term 3 social and emotional goals relating to our school NORMS as well as academic goals.

  • Describe and demonstrate what respectful, gender-inclusive behaviours look like.
  • Assess situations involving forms of gender-based violence to consider possible responses e.g. refusing to participate or help seeking.
  • Practise help-seeking strategies that can be used when encountering uncomfortable or unsafe situations
  • Rehearse and refine strategies for seeking, giving and denying consent respectfully and describe situations where consent is required e.g.borrowing belongings or giving a hug.

Positive Classroom Management Strategies (PCMS)

A significant effort has also been made to promote fair play in the schoolyard. The Year 3 cohort has played an active role in establishing a shared set of rules and expectations for the games commonly played during recess and lunch, including AFL, soccer, basketball, tag, and four square/handball. The finalised rules have been shared with students and are now displayed in classrooms for easy reference.
