Our Excursion to Whitten Oval - Recounts by 2EP

Charlotte

Today we went on a walking excursion to Whitten Oval. First, we watched an extraordinary short film about three brave Bulldogs supporters. Next we played an exciting game of ‘Simon Says’! After that we visited the mysterious Hall of Fame, but I didn’t get to see the photo of Ted Whitten (Dun, Dun, Dunnnn). Then we saw the incredible EJ Whitten stand, it looks bigger from close up! We even saw Ted Whitten’s chair. We learned about a passionate Bulldogs supporter Irene Chatfield, who bravely saved the dogs from merging with Fitzroy!

Today we went on an excursion to Whitten Oval to learn about its extraordinary history. The first thing we saw was pictures of important people from the Bulldogs history. After that, we watched a beautiful film, it was like a cinema! Next we went to the trophy room, we had so much fun. We saw Crystal and unbelievable trophies! It was like time travelling. Then we went back to Footscray West Primary School.

Today, on the 26th of May, me and the Grade 2s went on a walking excursion to Whitten Oval! First we watched an important movie about the supporters who help our wonderful team… the Western Bulldogs. The movie gave us so much amazing information about all the nice people. Next the grade 2s went to the toilet, because some people were busting. Then we went into the shiny trophy museum. There were so many amazing things to look at! There were also so many facts! Then we went to the EJ Whitten stand with nearly 1000 seats - yes so many! Some of the seats had very important names like Irene Chatfield and Ted Whitten. Finally, we went back to school happily. And by the time we were back at school we were very tired so we played on the basketball court nicely. We did some nice handwriting too to calm down. The End.

Today we went to Whitten Oval, and on the way we saw the beautiful library, Dosa Hut and then went into Whitten Oval. Then we watched a fantastically cool movie and we saw Irene Chatfield in the movie and we also discovered that Ted Whitten scored 321 goals. We also learned that Irene saved the Bulldogs by bringing the community together and raised $1.6 million dollars. After the movie Ella gave us the trickiest quiz in the world and we went to the trophy room and saw Nana Shazza's costume. It was very cool, and we saw the premiership trophies, and the women's premiership trophies too. Finally we went back to school.
