Ballarat Wildlife Park: Friday 4th September- More information to come. Students are required to arrive to school at 7.45am, leaving 8am sharp.
Important Information
Toys at school
A friendly reminder that students are asked not to bring toys to school unless it has been pre-arranged with their teacher for a specific learning activity or special event. While we understand that children enjoy sharing their favourite toys, bringing them to school can often lead to big emotions if they are lost, damaged, or if other children would like to play with them. They can also become a distraction from learning and play. If there is ever a special occasion where toys are needed, your child's teacher will let you know in advance.
Big write
This week we will be completing our first Big Write of the term, on Friday 24th of July. Big Writes will take place each fortnight. At the start of each Big Write week, we will share the prompt on Compass. At home, can you please discuss the prompt (photo and words) with your child and some ideas they could write about using the prompt. Please do not write anything at home, this is just a discussion to get the students thinking of ideas prior to completing the task at school.

100 days of school
A friendly reminder the Prep students will be celebrating their 100th day of school on Friday 31st July. On this day, students are invited to come dressed as if they are 100 years old! We look forward to seeing their costumes and celebrating with lots of fun activities on this special day.
What we've been up to in Prep!
Upcoming Learning
Literacy
In Literacy over the next two weeks, we will be reading 'Pocket Dogs', 'Let's Get a Pup', 'Wendy' and 'Really Cool Reptiles'. We will be revising the sounds we have learnt and looking at our new Stage 5 sound - /ck/. We will learn our new heart word 'be'.
Mathematics
In weeks 3 and 4 we will look at sharing, odd and even numbers and place value.
Topic
In Topic, we will learn about pets and how we take care of them. We will also be learning about reptiles.
In Respectful Relationships we will start looking at Stress Management: The melting tiger game & how stressful? We will also look at Positive Play: strategies for self cheering.
