日本語 Japanese

In the last week of Term 2, we celebrated the Tanabata festival in the Grade 1/2 class. We made a wish and put some origami shell shapes to decorate their bamboo tree. It was a great fun activity to end Semester 1.
The foundation class also had a busy lesson in the last period. They designed and created the Japanese garden using some nature vocabulary, such as ishi (rocks), hana (flowers), and ike (pond).
We are going to have the Japanese Fun Day on the 1st of September this term. There will be a costume parade and some activities that Grades 5 and 6 will plan and lead. It will be a big term with lots of planning and activities to prepare for the big day. Stay tuned, and we will post our planning here.
Welcome to Term 3, and looking forward to having another exciting term with you all.
