Community Catch-Up

On Wednesday 1st July, DCS held a Community Catch-Up. It was wonderful to see parents and children coming together, connecting with other families, and enjoying a hot coffee and light refreshments. The event provided a great opportunity for families to socialise, build relationships, and strengthen our community connections.

We are aiming to hold these Community Catch-Ups once each term and would love to see even more families join us at the next one.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make it such a positive event. We look forward to seeing you at our next Community Catch-Up!

Expressions of Interest - Father's Day Expo

Each year, the DCS Community run an amazing Father’s Day Stall, giving students the opportunity to purchase a small gift for their dad or someone special in their life.

This year, we are excited to keep the momentum going by hosting our annual market-style Father’s Day Expo!

We are now putting an early call out to any parents in our community who may have a side hustle creating, crafting, or baking something special. We would love for you to be part of this event by hosting a stall. Whether you make handmade goods, delicious treats, or unique gifts, this is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your talents and be part of a fantastic community event.

Interested in having a stall? Please reach out to Jasmin:

  •  Email: jasmin.thompson@dcs.tas.edu.au

  • Facebook: Jasmin at DCS

We can’t wait to hear from you and make this year’s Father’s Day Expo another great success!

Volunteers Wanted

We are on the hunt for a few extra helping hands for our Breakfast Club on Monday mornings in Term 3.

We are looking for someone who can pop in at 7:45am on Mondays to help with simple (but very important!) tasks like cutting up fruit and buttering toast. It is a small window of time, but a BIG blessing to our students.

Breakfast Club is something really special here at DCS, and it only happens because of our wonderful volunteers. With a few of our regulars away on holidays, we would love to fill some of those Monday spots.

If you have completed the DCS Working with Vulnerable People course and would enjoy volunteering about 30 minutes of your time on a Monday morning in our Jiloa Kitchen, we would love to hear from you!

Please email Jasmin if you are keen to help out : jasmin.thompson@dcs.tas.edu.au

Jiloa Café

DCS Community is delighted to let you know that we have complimentary coffee and hot drinks available every week from our Jiloa Café during assemblies on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8.20am-9.00am.

For our Secondary parents, you are also more than welcome to come down and visit us at the Jiloa Café as well for a warm drink!

We look forward to seeing you there!
