Year 10 Sports Day with Leighland

Last week, our Year 10 students enjoyed a fantastic day of sport and connection alongside Year 10 students from Leighland Christian School at the Ulverstone Recreation Centre. Students were placed into mixed-school teams, working together and competing in volleyball, basketball and futsal throughout the day.

Beyond the competition, the focus was on building relationships, encouraging teamwork and creating positive connections with students from Leighland. It was wonderful to see students supporting one another and demonstrating great sportsmanship both on and off the court!

The day provided a valuable opportunity for students to step outside their usual school groups, meet new people and experience the power of sport in bringing communities together. A big thank you to all students involved for their enthusiasm, cooperation and positive attitudes, which helped make the day such a success.

Year 9/10 PE

While our Production students have been busy rehearsing, the remaining Year 9/10 students have been making the most of their PE lessons by participating in a Net/Wall Games unit this term. Students have developed their skills, teamwork and game strategies through a range of activities including badminton and volleyball.

As part of the unit, students also had the opportunity to head to the Devonport Recreation Centre to play squash and racquetball. This was a great chance for students to try new activities, challenge themselves and develop their understanding of various net and wall sports.

It has been fantastic to see students getting involved, supporting each other and building their confidence across different activities. The unit has provided students with opportunities to develop new skills while enjoying being active and working together.

Student Market Day

During Weeks 9 and 10 of Term 2, the Business and Enterprise Studies class will be hosting a Market Day every Friday at lunchtime in the foyer of the 9/10 Building.

Students will be selling products they have designed, created, marketed, and produced as part of their studies. There will be a variety of stalls featuring custom house T-shirts, bookmarks, custom hoodies, and frisbees.

Come along, check out the stalls, and support our young entrepreneurs by purchasing one of their creations!

Join Anna, Elsa, Olaf and friends as our talented Secondary students bring the magic of Arendelle to life on stage at the Leven Theatre, Ulverstone, from Wednesday 12th August to Saturday 15th August.

Expect plenty of fun, laughter, adventure, and songs you'll know and love. Whether you are young or young at heart, this is one performance you won't want to let go!

5 & 2 Secondary Breakfast

Our wonderful DCS community blesses our Secondary students every Thursday with delicious breakfast snacks, including a range of fruit, hot Milos, toasties, and drinks. This is a lovely way for students to start their day well, enjoying fresh food, and is now held in the new Secondary building!

 All Secondary students are warmly invited, we’d love to see you there!

Time: 8:05am – 8:25am, every Thursday during school terms.
