School Council President's Report

My name is Kevin Hanson, I am the new school council president for 2026/2027. I have two sons at our school, one in Year 9 and one in Year 12. I joined the school council last year and have found it fascinating to get an understanding of the complexities of running a school that I admit, I had never given much thought to in the past. 

My first role as President was having the privilege of being a minor part of the Debutante Ball at the end of term 1.  A tremendous amount of work went into the evening, and all involved did a fantastic job. 

Last week, I had a tour of the work being undertaken at the school to renovate the F-wing toilet block.  It was pleasing to see that the project is nearing its completion after a lengthy process and a lot of hard work behind the scenes.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing president, Peter Neaves, for his years of service to the school council and hope that I can continue to build on his legacy.  I look forward to making my own contributions to the progress of Maffra Secondary College.
