ALL ABOUT BUGS
Today, Banksia group concluded our study of bugs with a special focus on ants. The children explored a variety of artistic ways to represent ants, building on their understanding that an ant’s body has three main parts: the head, thorax and abdomen. We then practised drawing ants on whiteboards based on four simple steps.
To round off the term, we watched A Bug’s Life, which was a fitting finale with the ant as the central character. It was such a fun movie to enjoy together, and the apple tarts that we made together in the morning were a delicious treat! The children especially loved seeing how resourceful the ants were and how they worked as a team. Today’s program at kindergarten is an excellent example of play-based learning in action.
