Dear JMSS Community,

The past few weeks of the term have been jam-packed with events as we move into one of the busiest and most exciting parts of the year. There’s been an incredible energy around the school, and it's been fantastic to see everyone getting involved and supporting each other as we make our way into SAC and exam season.

It was great to see the enthusiastic participation in our house competitions so far this term, with both Active April and House Athletics Day bringing out the competitive spirit in students and staff alike. Congratulations to Wood House for taking out Active April, and to Doherty House for their victory on Athletics Day. It was great to see the level of dedication and participation from all of the houses.

On May 2nd, we held our ANZAC Day Assembly, a moment of reflection and remembrance for the sacrifices made by those who served. A huge thank you to Mr Anderson, who shared a moving and personal account of his grandfather’s experiences during the war. We also want to acknowledge Bai Yang Pogos-Hill for his outstanding performance of The Last Post and The Rouse.

Our Online Information Night took place on May 7th, offering families a valuable chance to learn more about the programs, pathways, and opportunities available here at JMSS. We love to see the level of interest in our school.

Looking ahead, we’re gearing up for one of our biggest community events, the World’s Greatest Shave, happening on May 30th. Our fundraising efforts are underway, and we're slowly making our way towards our ambitious goal of $20,000 in support of the Leukaemia Foundation. Every donation makes a difference, and we’re incredibly grateful for the support so far and can’t wait to see how much we can raise in the rest of this month.
