Our trip to Swinburne University for the astrophysics excursion was a very memorable experience. One of the highlights was using VR to explore space , it didn’t feel like just a simulation; it felt like we were actually moving past stars and galaxies, which made everything we’d learned in class come to life. The 3D movie added to that feeling, helping us really understand the size and scale of the universe in a way that’s hard to put into words. Another standout part of the day was meeting educators from different countries. They explained things clearly and were passionate about what they taught, which made the sessions more engaging and interesting.it was refreshing to see science in a new way and to learn people from around the world .

Melbourne Aquarium
Year 10 Aquatic Fieldwork Science students visited the Melbourne Aquarium to learn about conservation of endangered species, in particular sharks and rays.
Embedding Maths into real life problem solving
Students in core maths measured the height of the schools flagpole (15m) on Anzac day as well as creating some challenging orienteering activites throughout the school as part of their lessons in trigonometry.
These activites were great discussion points and embedded their learning in real life problem solving.
