Principal Team Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome Back to Term 4

Welcome back to Term 4! We hope our BPS families enjoyed a restful and enjoyable break. It has been wonderful to welcome our students back to school, and there is already a real sense of excitement about all that the final term of the year has in store.

There has been plenty happening around our school grounds over the holidays. We are particularly excited to see the resurfacing of our oval completed, with Beaumaris Primary School becoming the first school to make the move from SBR rubber to recycled cork infill. This is an exciting step forward for our school and provides a wonderful, safe playing surface for our students. The cork will settle naturally into the grass fibres as the field is used.

We have also completed the next stage of our BPS Orchard Project, with the installation of our new plexi-paving in our House colours, featuring our beloved seagull, Gus. Thank you to King of Courts for working so hard over the holidays, despite unfavourable weather, to have this exciting addition ready for our students' return. It is wonderful to see the Orchard continuing to take shape and become such a vibrant part of our school.

We are also delighted to announce that the library will reopen in Week 2. We thank our students and families for their patience as we worked through the logistical challenges involved. A special thank you to our parent helpers and BPS staff for preparing the Junior and Senior Library spaces ready for use. We look forward to seeing our students enjoying and sharing the wonderful books in our library.

There is certainly no shortage of excitement on the Term 4 calendar! This week, our Year 3 students will head off on their first overnight camp to Camp Oasis - a wonderful opportunity to build independence, friendships and confidence. Our Year 4 and 5 students will participate in Bike Ed this term, our 2027 Prep students and families will begin their transition journey, and our Year 6 students will commence preparations for their culminating project, the Year 6 Market, beginning with an excursion to South Melbourne Market.

Of course, alongside all these exciting events and more, our classrooms will continue to be buzzing with learning. Students will be engaged in English, Mathematics, Knowledge Units and specialist subjects, while also taking part in numerous sporting and performing arts events. Term 4 is always a busy one, but it is also a wonderful time to celebrate the learning, growth and achievements of our students across the year.

Finally, a huge thank you to our Parents and Friends group for organising what promises to be an outstanding evening this Saturday - the BPS Great Gatsby Gala. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the organisation of the event, as well as our generous sponsors. We hope everyone who attends has a fantastic evening!

We look forward to a wonderful Term 4 together.

Kind regards,

David, Grace and Keli
