Wellbeing News

Dear Families,
This term we are trialling a new system which will support our students assisting them with self regulation and behaviour support management. A great deal of thought, research and discussion has taken place prior to developing this system - which we will review and modify as the need arises and the term gets underway. This was shared with students during the week.
In Term Three we introduced our whole school reward jars, which are kept in the office area. Each class and specialist area co-created with teachers, a chart outlining what they wanted their class to feel like, sound like and look like. This became an agreement with each class.
We also created a chart for the school yard with all students offering suggestions during our weekly whole school gatherings.
We have designed the behaviour support flowchart with a neuroaffirming lens and in line with Melbourne Archdiocese of Catholic Schools (MACS) policies.
We have developed a document that outlines the minor and major behaviour support steps and provides insight into the work out why strategy for teacher use.
We hope it provides clear communication of expectations, understanding and support pathways undertaken, so that everyone at Sacred Heart can learn and grow together to their best of their ability.
I have added the minor behaviour support steps document below.
The leadership team welcome questions or feedback from the community, as we trial this system.
Take Care,
Kate
