Religious Education

Everyone Belongs
Today, Catholics recognise St Patrick’s Day, remembering St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. St Patrick is known for sharing the message of Christianity with the Irish people and helping others come to know God’s love. His life reminds us of the importance of faith, courage and sharing kindness with those around us.
Later this week, on March 19, the Catholic Church celebrates the feast of St Joseph, the husband of Mary and the earthly father of Jesus. St Joseph is remembered for his quiet strength, humility and dedication to caring for his family. He is a wonderful example of trust in God and of living a life of service to others.
This week is also Harmony Week (March 17–22), a time to celebrate the many cultures, traditions and stories that make up our Australian community. At Sacred Heart, we are proud that our school is a place where everyone belongs and where we learn to respect and celebrate our differences.
Throughout the week, students will take part in a range of activities and learning experiences focused on kindness, respect and inclusion. Our Grade 5 students in 5MC, will also lead a special Harmony Day assembly, sharing the message that everyone belongs and that our diversity makes our community stronger. ( On Thursday at 9am in the Multi-purpose room)
We look forward to celebrating this meaningful week together as a school community.
