AUTISM INCLUSION TEACHER

2026

Hello from the Autism Inclusion Teacher,

Last week, I took part in the ACEL (Australian Council for Educational Leaders) Inclusion and Disability Conference. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn and share ideas with educators from all over Australia. We heard from speakers with real experience in schools, and the sessions focused on practical ways to support all students, including those with diverse learning needs.

The conference provided useful strategies and research about how to create more inclusive classrooms. There was a strong focus on working together to find solutions to common challenges, so every child can feel like they belong and can succeed at school.

Key areas included:

  • How to adapt assessment tasks so they are accessible for all students
  • Ways to recognise and understand different learning needs
  • Strategies for building a positive, inclusive environment
  • Communication tips for working with families to support learning

I’m looking forward to sharing the information and strategies I’ve learned with other staff at Hackham East Primary School.
