What an amazing term we have had; It’s hard to believe we are already half way! We are now in week 3 of our Jump Rope for Heart program, and our students have been enthusiastically skipping, learning new skills, and discovering just how amazing our heart really is! Through our learning, students have been exploring the role of the heart in helping us be successful and energetic when playing games and exercising. We’ve also been exploring how our heart rate changes during different types of movement and activities, including recording our heart rate in both fast-paced games and some more relaxing activities. If you haven’t already, feel free to join our School’s page.
As we wrap up our Australian Rules Football unit, it’s been wonderful to see so many learners practising their hand balling, kicking, and marking skills, not just in lessons but also out on the oval during playtimes. The commitment, improvement, and teamwork on display have been outstanding, and it’s great to see the skills and fair play values being carried into our students’ free play. We look forward to the weeks ahead as we continue with Jump Rope for Heart, and it’s been wonderful to see our students already making use our skipping ropes to practice their skills during playtime.
