SCIENCE
2026
This term in Science, students have been exploring Biology and Living Systems through hands-on investigations into plant growth. Students became scientists by planting seeds, making predictions, observing changes and measuring their plants over time.
Throughout the experiment, students investigated different factors that can affect plant growth, including water, sunlight and temperature. They explored the importance of variables, collected data and reflected on whether their results matched their original predictions.
Students also learnt about the amazing ways plants adapt to survive in different environments and used their creativity to design their own plants with special adaptations.
A big focus throughout the term has been developing our science dispositions - being curious, responsible and open-minded learners.
It has been wonderful seeing students ask thoughtful questions, share ideas and use evidence to explain their thinking.
