Year 6 trip to the Northern Territory

On the 11th May three staff and 27 students left Melbourne airport for Alice Springs.  The group returned on 19th May.

During our trip to the Northern Territory we spent seven nights at the Yipirinya School (Alice Springs) and one night at Uluru.

Our students spent four days working with the indigenous children at the Yipirinya school, including one day out 'on country'.  Yipirinya has children from preschool to Year 10.

Our students were engaged in indigenous language classes, sport activities, maths and English classes and generally playing with the students at Yipirinya.

The students will be making a presentation of their trip at one of our next assemblies.

We spent two days touring in Alice Springs and one day at Uluru.  Everywhere we went our students were complimented for their manners, respect and keen interest.  I'd like to congratualte the children on being such wonderful ambassadors for our school.

I'd like to thank Ben Parker and Bree Davey who also accompanied the students.

We will be holding an information session in Term Four for current Year 5 parents who may be interested in sending their children on this trip next year.
