Library News
Our library is becoming well utilised with many children and parents enjoying the opportunity to come in and read a story before school. Remember we encourage all family members; grandparents who have time to share in stories with young listeners are most welcome as are younger siblings who like having stories read to them!
We have a huge variety of books students can choose from to read and they can also take them home to enjoy a second time. Students can come in and borrow and return books before school as well as once a week when their class goes to library.
Our Foundation classes have not started taking readers home yet, but other year levels across the school have. Your child may like to bring their school reader into the library and read this before school.
Reinforced Reading Training
This year as part of our tutoring program we are launching a component called Reinforced Reading. This involves students on the program reading individually to a trained helper each day.
I am looking for parent helpers who are interested in doing a short training with me to become volunteers who help listen to children read before school as part of this Reinforced Reading Program. If you think you could spare one morning a week to do this I'd love to hear from you.
Once you complete our short school's Volunteer Induction online module, I will make a time with you to come and meet with me to train in you in this program.
If you have any question about our Library or wish to find out further about the before school reading program and how you can help with this, please contact me at school.
Thank you, Mrs Heather Woodman.
