St Brendan’s Solidarity Walk

Last Friday, our school community came together for our annual St Brendan’s Solidarity Walk — a powerful experience of faith in action. All students took to the oval walking in pairs and small groups, supporting one another as they symbolically shared in the “long walk” that many children and families around the world must make each day to collect water. The walk helped build an awareness and a deeper understanding of how we can stand and walk in solidarity for those in need.

A special thank you to Year 2 Nicholson and Drummond/Weber for leading our reflective assembly prayer and for their beautiful singing of Rivers of Peace by Andrew Chinn with actions. It was a perfect and prayerful way to begin the walk.

We are very grateful to our Year 6 leadership helpers who assisted with the organisation of the morning, and to all the wonderful parents and grandparents who stayed to walk alongside our students. We were also delighted to be joined by Fr Adi Indra, who came to see our students putting compassion into action.

Together, we raised awareness and a fantastic total of $214.35 in support of Caritas Australia. What a wonderful example of our community walking in solidarity for justice and hope.

Well done, everyone — we are proud of the way our students lived out their faith through action today.

Project Compassion

DONATION BOXES for every family

Each student will receive a Project Compassion Box in week 4, to begin our Lenten journey.

Families are encouraged to fill their boxes with 'small change' at home and return them back to school by the end of term.

Lent marks the beginning of our 'OUTREACH' initiatives to support those in need around the world.

As we 'live out' our Mercy Charism, following in the footsteps of the founding sister, Catherine McAuley, we embrace this opportunity to help those in need.

Thank you in advance to all our school community families.
