Years 7-9

Year 7 Humanities
In Humanities, the Year 7’s have started learning about Australia’s long and diverse history. We have also been focusing on fundamental historical skills, in particular chronology. Last lesson, students applied their knowledge of BCE, CE and circa. time conventions to create a timeline of deep time Australia, ordering significant events of Australia’s past in chronological order.
Year 7 Food Technology
Students have been studying different methods of baking. Last week they made Cheesy Bacon Scrolls using the 'rubbing in method'.
Just a reminder- if students could please bring a container (4lt ice cream container is perfect) each Friday for class.
Year 8 Textiles
This semester, the year 8’s have begun Textiles as an elective. They have been learning about different fibres and fabric types in theory sessions and have begun mastering the settings on the sewing machine, producing some wonderful stitch samplers in the last session. They created a “yarn” using two small cotton balls, with some very successful attempts in deed!
