Colouring Competition and Easter Egg Guess
Thank you to the chidlren that have taken part in the Caritas Colouring in Competition and Easter Egg Guess. Prizes for P-2, 3-4 and Seniors for the Colouring Competition will be given out at our first assembly after the holidays. The winner of the Easter Egg Guess will also be announced at this time.
St Patrick's Day
Thank you to the Year 3 teachers, Mrs Richardson and Mrs Hoogeveen, and the students, for organising and preparing the St Patrick's Day Caritas fundraiser last Tuesday. The children raised money selling lolly bags and shamrock shaped cookies, made by Chelsea Bateman (Thomas 4EO).
Big Water Walk
On Tuesday 17th March, the Seniors completed the Big Water Walk for Project Compassion. We walked around the oval carrying buckets of water for 30 minutes. Our buckets weren’t nearly as full as the buckets of the people that have to transport water in this way. This made carrying our buckets easier, and gave us a good perspective on how difficult accessing fresh water in some countries must be. Furthermore, this event helped us to understand what some people, particularly children, have to do in other countries to collect fresh water for their families. For every lap we completed we donated money to Project Compassion. As a Senior class we raised $276.10 for Project Compassion.
Money Trail
To support our Lenten Program, the Prep-Year 2 students have been contributing a combination of gold and silver coins to fill the Sacred Heart Coin Heart. There is still one more week to bring in a coin. We hope to turn it from red to silver and gold.
Stations of the Cross
On Wednesday we gathered as a whole school to listen to the Stations of the Cross. Thank you to the Year 3 students for leading this, and to our School Captains, Emily and Annabelle, for also assisting.
