'A Welcoming Community Leading the Future of Learning with Faith and Love'

Principal Updates

I hope that you enjoyed the extra long weekend with your family and friends. It was a valuable time to relax and prepare for the busy months ahead as we delve into the final 6 weeks of the term. We hope that all of the Year Prep - 2 students enjoy their swimming lessons over the next 2 weeks. We are looking forward to hearing all about what they learn.

This Friday we welcome our 28 new Prep 2026 students. Following on from our very successful storytime sessions, this Friday will be the first of 3 transition sessions. It will be exciting to welcome our new students and their families as they begin their schooling journey at St John's.

On Friday, 14 November our school will be transformed for the Annual St John's Community Fete. This will be a School Closure Day for the students, as the staff will be working off site, taking part in Professional Learning with Team Teach.

It is an expectation that all families volunteer for at least one hour on Fete Day to work on a stall or help with setting up or packing up. Please ensure you have scanned the QR code on the Fete Page of the newsletter, to register your time and availability for the St John's Fete.

As a Sunsmart School we encourage students to wear sunscreen and hats everyday in Term 4. Please pack a sunscreen tube or roll-on in your child's bag and encourage them to use it everyday. The staff will also be educating students to be safe in the sun, to apply and reapply sunscreen before our outside breaks.

School Fees

This is just a reminder that all 2025 school fees need to be finalised ASAP. Please make your final payments to ensure that there is no outstanding debt, unless you already have a payment agreement in place. Please reach out to me if you are having difficulty making your final payment. Final statements with an outstanding balance will be sent to families in the coming weeks.

We need your support at the St John's Fete!

The 2025 Fete is on Saturday, 15 November from 10am - 4pm, so please mark it in your diaries. The St John’s Parish Community Fete is one of the highlights of the year for the students, families and the parish community. It is a time for us all to come together, celebrate our wonderful community and in doing so, raise funds for the school and Parish as a whole. We rely on a contribution from everyone to guarantee the success of the fete.

We ask that every family contributes one-two hours to a stall on the day to ensure the Fete’s success.

The experience of working at the Fete is enjoyable and rewarding, knowing that you are being part of our wider community. On the Fete Page of the Newsletter is the list of stalls. Please scan the code on the Fete page for your stall of choice or the one allocated to your Child's Year Level.

The Staff will be running the Lob a Choc Stall again this year. We ask that every family donates one block of chocolate for the stall. We also support St James staff in running the Lolly Stall so any lolly donations would also be appreciated.

Fete Raffle Tickets

Thankyou to all of the families who have been able to sell and return your Raffle Tickets and money. We ask that all families please return their raffle ticket books as soon as possible. Raffle tickets can still be returned to the school office, even if they have not been sold.

🎉Congratulations to the Harvey family for winning our first prize and to the

Bajcic family for winning our second raffle ticket incentive prize!🎉

Joke of the Week

Q: Why are giraffes good friends to have?

A: Because they stick their necks out for you!

Have a great week everyone and I am looking forward to seeing you all at the Fete next weekend.
