From the Principal
As my first year as Principal of this incredible learning community comes to a close, I find myself filled with gratitude and admiration for all that we have achieved together. This time of reflection allows me to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone in our community for the year that has been. Our students have shown remarkable optimism, positivity, and resilience, embodying the spirit of lifelong learning. Our staff have been unwavering in their dedication to education, evident in the growth and achievements of every student. And our parents and guardians have been invaluable partners, working alongside us to support and empower their children.
As we approach the end of 2024, we prepare to farewell Jane Goddard, our Assistant Principal - Learning & Teaching, as she moves into retirement following an extraordinary 45-year career in education. Jane’s 13 years of dedicated service to Marian College have left a lasting legacy, marked by her commitment to continuous improvement and her innovative approach to leadership. Her contributions have been truly remarkable, and she will be deeply missed.
I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge Donna Rampova, who will be stepping down from her role as Assistant Principal - Staffing. Donna will continue to be a valued member of the Marian College community in 2025. Both Jane and Donna have demonstrated outstanding and courageous leadership as part of the Executive team, and their impact on the College has been significant.
I am pleased to announce that from 2025, Ms Belinda Flynn will be joining Marian College in the role of Assistant Principal- Learning & Teaching and Mrs Nella Cirillo as the Assistant Principal – Staff & Strategy. Both leaders will bring a wealth of experience to steer the College moving forward.
As we wind down 2024, it has been most enjoyable to celebrate our cohorts with end of year liturgies.
On Wednesday, 3 December we celebrated our Year 10 and 11s final day for 2024 with a liturgy, it was fantastic to see all students engaged in the celebration and respectful during the Mass.
On Thursday, 4 December we celebrated our Year 7,8 and 9s for their final day for 2024. This marks the last day for students in 2024, the service was moving and filled me with a great sense of pride to be part of this special community.
I wish all members of our community, particularly our students, every success and fulfillment. May this time be one of reflection, preparation, and celebration of the many gifts you bring to our Marian College community. The season of Advent invites us to prepare our hearts for the love, joy, and peace that this time of year brings. May we embrace this spirit, carrying it into our homes and families, and cherishing the bonds and connections that make our College such a unique and special place. Thank you for your contributions to making this year so special.
