2025 Student Leadership Team Saltbush Retreat

The 2025 Student Leadership Team had the privilege of attending the three-day Kildare Ministries Seminar in Saltbush, where we connected with student leaders from other schools. Through bonding activities, a guest speaker, and shared meals, we explored stories and strengthened our leadership skills.

The seminar encouraged us to connect with ourselves, others, and our faith while appreciating the beauty around us. A key lesson was recognizing unconscious biases, inspired by the idea of removing the log from our own eye before focusing on others’ specks. Reflecting on the inspiring work of the Presentation Sisters and Kildare Ministries, we redefined our strengths and weaknesses, striving for personal growth.

Seeing the collaborative effort put together by other leaders from different schools, we reflectedon this knowledge and aim to create a safe, engaging community for Marian College. We have also learnt the importance of hospitality, and plan to make more initiatives which allow our peersand staff to participate more in hospitality. We learned that to lead, we must first listen. As leaders, we hope to be able to encourage student feedback, to listen to what others have to offer, and hopefully, will build an even stronger community within our school. Together, we hope to leave a meaningful legacy at Marian College.
