Evie D – Top Designs Nomination

We are very proud to announce that Year 12 VCE Product Design and Technologies student Evie D has been nominated for Top Designs 2025. Top Designs celebrates the very best of Victoria's VCE design students, with over 1,000 submissions from government, independent and Catholic schools across the state. The final selection showcases only a select few works, highlighting the future of Australian contemporary design across various disciplines.

As a nominee, Evie has demonstrated skill in her submission: a versatile sweatshirt made from upcycled towels purchased from an opportunity shop. Her final product is sophisticated in its design techniques and demonstrates how recycled textile products can be applied to real a world problem with an informed, ethical, sustainable and innovative approach.

Hayden H – Academic Excellence in Mathematics

On Friday 6 December, Year 12 student Hayden H celebrated his graduation from the University of Melbourne's Mathematics Extension Program. This prestigious program provides high-achieving secondary students with the opportunity to engage in university-level mathematics while still completing their VCE studies. Hayden's dedication and hard work have been exceptional, and his achievement highlights his passion for mathematics and commitment to academic excellence. We are incredibly proud of Hayden and congratulate him on this outstanding milestone!

Oskar E - Leadership Achievement

Congratulations to Ada S (Year 7) for her outstanding performance at the 2024 Australian All School Championships in Brisbane! Competing against the nation’s best, Ada achieved an impressive 6th place in the High Jump. A fantastic effort—well done, Ada!

Hunter S – Elite Racing Star

We are thrilled to share the incredible achievements of Year 11 student Hunter S, a true rising star in the world of motorsport. Hunter is currently the number 1 racing-car driver in Australia, competing in major national and international competitions. His dedication to the sport has taken him around Australia and the world, racing throughout the year.

 

Hunter's journey began in Year 8, racing smaller vehicles, and he has now reached a major milestone—progressing to Formula 4 cars! This is an extraordinary achievement, and We can’t wait to follow his continued success both on and off the track. Congratulations, Hunter!

Connor H - Leading with Excellence at AFL Pacific Nations Championships

Recently, Connor (Year 11) was part of the South African 17’s AFL team at the AFL Pacific Nations Championships in Maroochydore. Despite the challenges of being in an unfamiliar environment, Connor demonstrated outstanding leadership both on and off the field.

 

In a team with a mix of players from Johannesburg’s townships and South African heritage players from Victoria, Connor became an unofficial leader, providing direction and support to his teammates. He consistently stepped up to carry the team, especially when competing against strong teams like Fiji, Nauru, and Tonga. His efforts, both as a player and mentor, were instrumental in the team’s improvement, culminating in a memorable victory over PNG.

 

Connor’s positive attitude, work ethic, and respect for his teammates were noted by his coach, Steven Moody, who has extensive experience in coaching football at various levels. Well done, Connor
