2025 Year 10 Work Experience Program

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Preparation for our Year 10 Work Experience Program in 2025 is well underway, and we are excited to offer students the opportunity to explore future career paths, build relationships with employers, and gain valuable real-world experience.

At Beaumaris Secondary College, we place great importance on community, as reflected in our school values: Belong, Believe, Become. In line with these values, we aim to strengthen connections with local businesses and organisations within our community.

We are reaching out to ask if any parents or guardians would be interested in adding their organisation, or a business they may have connections with, to our register of potential work placements for students. Your involvement in this program will provide our students with invaluable learning experiences and help them develop essential skills for their future pathways.

If your organisation would like to participate, or if you would like further information, please contact The Careers Team (Andy Farrow, Jack Crameri, and Stephanie Martin) at beaumaris.sc@education.vic.gov.au or call (03) 8569 9200.

Thank you for your continued support in providing our students with these important real-world opportunities.

Year 9 My Career Insights 2025

The Department of Education has contracted the Australian Centre for Career Education (ACCE) to provide access to the My Career Insights program to all year 9 students in government schools.

My Career Insights will help your child:

  • Learn about the skills and abilities they could bring to a career.
  • Find out which jobs match their abilities, interests and personality, and the subjects they need for those jobs.

As part of the My Career Insights program, your child will:

  • Complete a series of online questions and quizzes on the Morrisby website at school (or at home if it cannot be completed at school).
  • Receive a Morrisby Profile Report showing the results from the questions and quizzes, which summarises their individual strengths and interests and suggests related career paths and study options.
  • Have a 30-minute meeting with a Morrisby-trained professional Career Practitioner, who will explain the report to your child. Parent/guardians can attend this meeting. Please inform the school if you need a telephone interpreting service.

Students will complete the profile (online questions and quizzes) on Wednesday ,12 February 2025 during sessions 3 and 4. Consent is required prior to this date via Compass.

Morrisby Interviews will occur on 20, 21 and 31 March, and 1 and 2 April 2025.  Further details will be sent to parents/carers and students regarding interviews closer to the date.
