Do you play a musical instrument? If so, which one?

I don’t currently, but I used to play the flute until Year 8 and was extremely good at it. However, I decided it wasn’t for me.

How long have you worked at BSC?

Almost 18 months, since May 2023.

How many languages do you speak?

I’m fluent in one (English), but when I lived in Indonesia, I spoke some Bahasa. When I lived in Malaysia, I learned some Malay, which was very similar.

If you could choose to be anything for a day, what would it be?

If I was an object, I would be a lava lamp because I feel it really embodies my personality. But if I could choose, I would be glasses because I could still read, watch theatre, and wouldn’t have to hear bad singing.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Parmigiana, so that I could have a wide range of parmigiana. (After an intense debate with Ms Irvine, however, I would like to change my answer to sandwich.)

If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?

I’ve always wanted to go to Mongolia and do the Trans-Siberian Railway.

If you were a superhero, what powers would you have?

I would choose teleportation, but I would also like to teleport objects/people.

Is there anyone who has influenced you as a teacher? In what way?

There have been many, many people. I find this question difficult because I’ve had lots of influences in various ways. For productions, it would have been my first head of department, Tanya Nelson. We directed our first play together, and I learned a lot under her leadership.

Tell us about your family.

I have a son named James, who is 2 and a half, and a husband named David.

What animal would you like to be for a day?

A bird! Like a majestic bird, not a normal bird—a flying bird, not an emu.

What book/TV series/podcasts are you into at the moment?

From, it’s a TV show, and Schitt’s Creek, which I’ve been rewatching. I also like audiobooks.

What has been a highlight of your time at BSC?

It has to be Productions—Alice in Wonderland and Radium Girls.

What is your favourite music?

This might be a bit scandalous, but I don’t really care about music, so I don’t know what to say. I used to try to hide it or pretend, but I’ve learned to embrace it as I’ve aged.

What is your ideal way to unwind and relax?

I love reading; I’m a real fan of it, and I also like walking.

What would you sing at karaoke night?

Probably a massive ballad, because if I’m going to do karaoke, I want to commit—like Adele. If it’s a duet with Ms. Irvine, definitely "Defying Gravity."

What’s your most fond childhood memory?

That’s a hard question—just a lot of good things. I had an awesome upbringing; I was super blessed. Growing up in far north Queensland meant I was always on adventures.

Who would you like to swap places with for the day?

I was going to say someone fancy and in power, but I don’t want those decisions. Some anonymous, random, extremely wealthy, sultan-like, rich person. Or if it’s someone fictional, I would like to be the little girl who goes on adventures in The Faraway Tree, Beth.

Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?

Ollie Prince (BSC student)! I’m his biggest fan, and he would play me in Ms. Irvine and my musical: Prirvine.

Why did you choose to go into teaching?

I was never a very good student, but I had a couple of teachers who made a very positive impact on my education, and I wanted to be like them.

Thanks, Ms Price!
