Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes – Primary Class Project
Primary parents will have students coming home about purchasing an item to donate to our Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes. Each class is putting together a gift box which will be sent to a child in need of kindness. Students are invited to bring something along that fills the requirements to fill a gift box. Classes will then track their own box to see which country benefits from their compassion and generosity. Around the Parishes of Moama/Echuca – Christ Church Anglican Echuca celebrates 160 Years
Come and celebrate with our local Anglican congregation as they celebrate 160 years of God’s faithfulness to them! Bishop Matt Brain will be our guest preacher and there will also be Confirmations in the service followed by a light lunch. All welcome!
Experiential Learning – Year 7 Mini Passover
Year 7 finished their unit on Moses and the Exodus with a mini-passover meal in the classroom drawing connections to the origins of this Jewish festival and its connections to the Christian practice of Communion. All of the food elements assist in telling the story of the challenges of slavery (notice the faces as students tried the ‘bitter herbs’) and the joy of redemption. We also explored how this story played a part in inspiring local Indigenous leaders to fight for their own freedom and land.
Friends of Faith – Parent & Community Prayer Opportunity
A group of parents, grandparents and friends of the school meet regularly throughout the term to pray for our school community. Feel free to join us here at the school on the following dates this term. Come to the reception at 8:30am, sign in, and you will be directed to our place of prayer for that day. All are welcome from all denominations and the curious.
- 11 September
