CELEBRATING OUR FAITH

As we begin a new school year, I look forward to the many opportunities we will have to grow together in faith as a school community. Our Catholic identity remains at the heart of all we do, shaping the way we pray, learn, and care for one another.
Throughout the year, students will participate in Masses, prayer celebrations, and prayer experiences that invite them to deepen their relationship with God. We also look ahead to the celebration of the Sacraments, as we continue to work in partnership with families and our parish to support each child’s faith journey.
I thank our families for their ongoing support and look forward to walking together in faith throughout the year ahead.
We warmly welcome Fr Juvi Coronel to our Holy Trinity School and parish community. Fr Juvi is a Filipino priest who has spent the past two years ministering in Moree, and we are delighted that he is now joining us. Fr Juvi has shared how excited he is to become part of the HTS community and is very much looking forward to meeting our students, families, and staff. As he begins working within the school, we know his presence, faith, and gentle pastoral care will be a blessing to our community. We look forward to journeying together in faith with Fr Juvi and warmly wish him every blessing as he begins this new chapter with us.
We begin our new school year with the commissioning of our elected student leaders for 2026. The Induction Mass will be held on Friday, 13 February, in the Holy Trinity School Hall beginning at 9:15am.
Family and friends are welcome to attend the Mass as we celebrate those who have been chosen as our school leaders for 2026.
Holy Trinity School has launched our 2026 theme “Shine Your Light,” inspired by the Gospel of Matthew: “Let your light shine before others…” (Matthew 5:16). As we begin an exciting new chapter with our first Year 11 cohort, students reflected on leadership, faith, and school culture through prayer and a leadership retreat, before choosing this theme to guide our community.
Using the lighthouse as a symbol, the theme reminds students that light is meant to guide, encourage, and give hope to others. Throughout the year, Shine Your Light will be reflected in prayer, assemblies, classroom life, and service opportunities, encouraging students to live their faith through kindness, inclusion, and everyday actions.
We look forward to partnering with families as we encourage our students to shine their light — helping Holy Trinity continue to grow as a caring, faith-filled community where every child feels valued and supported.

As we approach the season of Lent, we are preparing to launch our annual Project Compassion appeal. This year, Caritas Australia invites us all to “Unite Against Poverty.” It is a call to action to stand in solidarity with our global neighbours and create a ripple effect of hope that will last for all future generations.
Project Compassion is more than just a fundraiser; it is an expression of our faith in action. By donating to Project Compassion, we are not just providing immediate aid; we are providing families with the tools - education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods - to break the cycle of poverty for good.
Keep an eye out for further details on how you can get involved as we begin our Lenten journey on Ash Wednesday, 18 February.
“The good we do today extends far beyond the present and impacts the lives of vulnerable communities for generations to come.”
Please note that school Mass times are 9:30am at Sacred Heart Church. Please remember that hot beverages should not be brought into the church.
