PRIMARY NEWS
from the Assistant Principal

It has been wonderful to see students arriving for their first week of school looking smart in their uniforms and fully prepared with their stationery. This demonstrates a fantastic commitment to our current focus: Being Ready to Learn.
To keep this momentum going, we are encouraging students to take care of themselves outside of school hours. A good night's sleep and healthy food fuel the brain, helping students make positive choices and concentrate in class.
Inside the classroom, we are adopting the mindset that "People have a better day because I am here as part of the HTS team." Classes are currently co-creating their own Codes of Conduct based on our Living Well Learning Well foundations: knowing that I am safe, I am valued, respected and cared for and I am a learner.
Wearing the school uniform is about more than just following the rules—it helps our students feel a true sense of belonging and school spirit. It identifies them as proud members of our community, both on and off the school grounds.
Beyond school pride, the uniform is a key part of keeping our students safe. It ensures they are easily recognisable, while specific requirements regarding shoes, hair, and jewellery are in place to prevent accidents during play and learning activities.
We ask that all students arrive each day in full uniform, ready to learn. Finally, please help us help you by clearly labeling every item of clothing. This ensures that lost jumpers and hats find their way back home!

Simple chain such as a sacramental crucifix worn under the uniform

Uniform is monitored regularly by class teachers, Leaders of Student Care and the Leadership Team. Please provide a dated note for your son or daughter if a student is not in the correct uniform advising when the uniform will be able to be rectified. This is to be given to the class teacher.

We look forward to presenting our 2026 leaders with their badges on Friday 13 February during our opening school Mass.
Families are warmly invited to come along to your child’s classrooms on Tuesday 17 February between 5 and 6 pm. K-6 students are encouraged to bring their families to their classroom to acquaint them with the organisation, expectations, regular happenings and other procedures of their class. It's also a proud moment for them to show off their work so far! This evening is an opportunity for questions and for families to introduce themselves to the classroom teacher. The class booklet will be sent home electronically to all families.
