PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Mrs Jillian Rainger

jrainger@arm.catholic.edu.au

Welcome back to HTS for 2026!

It was fantastic to see our students return happily last week. The buzz of students catching up with their friends and being excited about the new year ahead makes the first days of the school year delightful. We are looking forward to seeing our Kindergarten students starting on Thursday. They have been coming for their Best Start Assessments and have happily told me about having their uniform and bag ready!

Our staff had two extremely productive professional learning days at the end of January in preparation for the year ahead. The dates of our pupil-free days are in the Upcoming Dates section of the newsletter. These days will allow for staff to continue their professional learning as well as working on the new syllabus rollout.

New Staff and Students

We had 27 new students start across Years 1-11.  Our students are making them feel welcome. The kindness shown to new students is a credit to our community.

We also had new staff begin.  We welcome Mrs Nicole Simpson to Secondary Mathematics, replacing Miss Cush, who is on leave. Mrs Hannah Graham has joined our Secondary Science team, as she had been a wonderful asset to our school in a casual capacity in 2025. In Primary, we welcome Mrs Jodi Uebergang and Miss Chloe de Gunst. We welcome back Miss Phoebe Goddard and Mrs Maddy Devlin.

Starting Year 11

Last Thursday was a point in time in the history of the school as we began offering Stage 6. Our 17 Year 11 student commemorated this occasion by ringing the school bell in the tower.

Bus Travel

If your child catches a bus to and from school please collect their bus pass from your bus company. Students must carry their pass at all times. Attached are expectations for students travelling on Cavanagh's buses.

Canteen News

During Term 1 the canteen will be making a move from Spriggy Schools to using Compass Canteen for ordering. We will have a transition period. More information will be shared at the beginning of the new school year.

Communication channels

We are finalising many dates for the year ahead. This year our school calendar will have more information on it and it will be updated regularly. Please refer to it for upcoming dates. It can be found on Compass and on our school website.

Please remember we have a number of ways of communicating with our families:

  • Weekly on a Monday "What's on @ HTS" This is published on Facebook, Compass and a paper copy sent home. Primary receive these on Monday and in order to not interrupt learning, Secondary will take home the paper copy on Tuesday.
  • Fortnightly on a Tuesday the newsletter
  • Notifications on Compass
  • Holy Trinity School Facebook page

Please contact the Front Office if you cannot access Compass.

Update Details

If you have changed any details such as your address, contact numbers or your emergency contacts please contact the school office. Like on enrolment, we need documentation for the address change.

Student Attendance

Please contact the school office if your child is absent from school. It is a legal requirement that families inform the school when their child is absent.

End of day messages

The end of the school day is very busy in the Front Office. If you need to ring and let us know changes in plans could we ask that you keep ringing until you speak with someone instead of leaving a voice message. At this time of day there is not enough time to listen to the voice messages and it might be missed. Please keep trying to get through - we will answer as soon as we can. We appreciate your support so we can keep your child safe.

Parking around the school

As our school is growing the traffic at 3:20pm is increasing. Please take the time to be familiar with the parking regulations around the school.

P and F Meeting

Our first P and F Meeting will be held on Thursdsay 12 February at 5:30pm in the Primary Staff Room.  We will be planning for our Easter Fair that is set for Friday 27 March. Everyone is welcome - we would love to see new families join this wonderful group of hard working people who really make a difference in our school.

Uniform

Please take the time to read our Uniform and Presentation Guidelines to refresh our expectations.

A reminder that the Alinta Uniform is cashless.

School Advisory Council AGM

We are looking for a new member for our Advisory Council. If you would like to know about this opportunity please email me. The AGM will be held in the upcoming weeks.

Looking forward to seeing families at...

  • Our Swimming Carnival on Tuesday 10 February
  • Our Opening School Mass and Induction of Student Leaders on Friday 13 February

Invitations to families will go out by the end of this week when House Captain voting has taken place

  • The K-6 Meet and Greet on Tuesday 17 February

Have a good fortnight,

Jilly
