Marvellous Monican

Congratulations to Kiasi Fualau in Year 7 who is this edition’s Marvellous Monican. At the recent SACCSS competition, Kiasi broke the long-standing Under 13 discus record, a remarkable achievement that highlights his talent and dedication. He also won two gold medals at the recent Victorian Trials, earning selection in the Victorian Athletics Squad for 2025.

Kiasi is a proud member of the College Athletics Academy, the Athlete Development Program, and was an important player in the St Monica’s AFL team that secured the Premiership this year. His achievements on the field are matched by his exemplary behaviour at the College. Kiasi wears his uniform with pride, consistently acts as a role model, and demonstrates leadership qualities that inspire others in his Year level.

Naomi Deb (12 Emerald) consistently demonstrates a willingness to serve and lead her peers. As a dedicated member of the Social Justice group Be More, she has taken the initiative to lead the application process for the College’s Fairtrade initiative in the Rerum Novarum Awards 2025, including writing and designing the research and project impact report.

Through her efforts, St Monica’s College has successfully been granted $1000 to support Be More’s Fairtrade initiative, Dignity in Every Dollar. Naomi’s ability to balance academic success with her commitment to service activities, such as the Community Cook-Ups and the Exodus Drop-In Service, makes her a respected and admired member of the College community.
