The Ascension of the Lord
This week, our school community reflects on the feast of the Ascension of Jesus. The Ascension reminds us that after Jesus rose from the dead, He returned to heaven to be with His Father. It is a moment filled with hope and promise for all Christians.
In the Gospel of Luke we read: “While he was blessing them, he withdrew from them and was carried up into heaven” (Luke 24:50–51). In the Acts of the Apostles, Jesus tells His disciples: “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses” (Acts 1:8). These words remind us that although Jesus returned to heaven, He continues to be with us through the Holy Spirit and sends us to share His love with others.
The Ascension encourages us to live as witnesses of kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and hope in our daily lives. Just as the disciples returned with joy, we too can live with confidence knowing that Jesus is always with us.
Let us Pray
Loving God,
We thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus.
As He returned to heaven,
He promised to send the Holy Spirit to guide us.
Help us to be faithful witnesses of Your love
in our words and actions each day.
Strengthen our school community
to live with kindness, courage, and joy.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Thank you to all those families who have supported Caritas Australia and returned their Project Compassion boxes to school.

Next Monday, 18th May, a link to order will be placed on School Stream, and all orders must be in by Friday 22nd May. Unfortunately, we cannot offer cash sales on the day.
All money raised will be donated to Caritas Australia.
