Dear Families,

As we move through Week 6 of Term 2, it has been wonderful to see the continued enthusiasm for learning across all year levels. Students have settled into their routines and are demonstrating strong engagement in both classroom and extracurricular activities.

Teaching and Learning

Our focus this term remains on strengthening literacy and numeracy outcomes. Teachers are using a range of evidence-based strategies to support student learning, including targeted small group instruction and regular feedback to students.

Prep students continue to build their foundational reading and writing skills, while our upper school students are developing more complex thinking through inquiry-based learning tasks. We encourage families to continue supporting reading at home each evening, as this makes a significant difference to student progress.

Assessment and Reporting

Across the school, teachers are currently gathering assessment data to inform end-of-semester reports. This includes classroom assessments, observations, and student work samples.

Prep 2027 Principal Chats (Enrolment Interviews)

Our Prep Preview session was held last week and it was wonderful to meet some of our 2027 Prep students.  Parents are reminded to commence booking in for their child's Principal Chat, please contact the office on 46777 333 to arrange this or by dropping into the office.

Upcoming Events

We are looking forward to a busy and exciting end to the term, including:

  • Friday 12 June:
    • Prep to Year 2 students attending Under 8’s celebrations Border Rivers
    • Years 3 to 6 students participating in the Athletics Carnival at school

Please keep an eye on school communication platforms for specific details and reminders.

No Toys from Home

Toys are not to be brought to school unless specifically requested by the classroom teacher for a learning activity or special event. Toys can become a distraction to learning, create playground issues and are at risk of being lost or damaged.

Fidget tools to support focus and regulation will be provided by the school when required. If your child has a specific tool recommended by an Occupational Therapist, please speak with your child’s teacher so we can work together to support their needs appropriately at school.

Thank you for your support in helping us maintain a calm and focused learning environment for all students.
