Grade 4 Report

This term in Science, the Grade 4 students have been learning about water and the environment.

Throughout the term, students have explored and identified everyday examples of evaporation and condensation and investigated where our tap water comes from and what happens to water once it goes down the drain.

To further support their learning, the Grade 4 students participated in an exciting Science Incursion presented by Mad About Science on Friday May 1st.

During the engaging “Water and the Environment” workshop, students explored the unique properties of water and discovered why water molecules are considered “sticky.” They also learned about the importance of water in our everyday lives and why it is important to protect and conserve this precious resource.

As part of the workshop, students designed and tested a simple water filter, giving them the opportunity to apply their scientific thinking and problem-solving skills while working collaboratively with their peers.

It was wonderful to see the students so engaged, asking thoughtful questions, and enthusiastically participating throughout the session.
