Grade 3 Report

In Maths this term, the Grade 3 students have been busy exploring the exciting world of measurement and length! We have been learning about the different units of measurement including millimetres (mm), centimetres (cm), metres (m), and kilometres (km). Students have been developing their understanding of when and why we use each unit in everyday life.
Throughout our lessons, students have had many opportunities to practise their measuring skills using a variety of tools such as rulers, measuring tapes and metre sticks. They have enjoyed working collaboratively to measure different objects around the classroom and school environment, carefully recording and comparing their results. Students have also explored measuring longer distances between places and discussing which unit of measurement would be most appropriate to use.
One of the highlights of our learning has been applying our knowledge to solve real-life measurement problems and conversion questions. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they become “measurement experts”!
The students have shown great enthusiasm, curiosity, and persistence throughout this unit, and it has been fantastic to watch them engage in hands-on learning experiences. We are so proud of the effort everyone has put into their Maths learning, and most importantly, we have had lots of fun along the way!
