It has been another busy and productive week at the College, with plenty to celebrate across our programs.
A highlight was the Autumn Dairy Fair, where our students once again demonstrated their growing expertise. A big congratulations to Ms Quilty and Mr Jolly for their leadership and preparation leading into the event. We are incredibly proud of the students who showed cattle and whose skills and professionalism clearly reflect the strength of our program.
Our Horticulture team has also been hard at work in the lead-up to Mother’s Day, producing a beautiful selection of chrysanthemums. Thank you to families and community members for supporting this initiative and purchasing these bunches of flowers, a perfect Mother’s Day gift. $5 from each sale will be donated to Telethon.
I took the opportunity this week to visit the after‑school Trades program with Mr Briggs and to view the major projects students were completing. These projects showcase the high level of skills the students are developing in their Trade pathways.
Across the College this week, students have continued to engage strongly in both practical and classroom learning, building their skills as they progress through the term. It's nice to see the number of students who are now happy to stop for a chat; it seems they’ve worked out I’m human, after all!
I'm looking forward to Open Day, as we are now in full preparation mode. The pride and commitment behind this event are clearly evident.
With Mother’s Day this Sunday, I’d like to acknowledge and thank all the mums, grandmothers, and other significant women in our students’ lives for the support, care, and encouragement you provide every day. I hope you are able to take some time this weekend to relax and enjoy being celebrated by those around you.
Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Harvey Ag.
