Year 5 Excursion

Last week, our Year 5 students visited Fremantle Prison as part of our HASS learning on colonisation and its significant impact on Australia.
During the excursion, the students deepened their understanding of the lives of convicts, learning that many of them were responsible for building the prison itself.
They explored what a typical day looked like for these prisoners, including their strict routines and weekly schedules.
The harsh conditions and discipline the convicts endured shocked the students and helped them develop a greater appreciation of the challenges faced during this period in history.
Overall, it was a highly engaging and valuable learning experience that brought our classroom studies to life.
