Pre-Kindergarten - Little Adventurers

Our Pre-Kindy children have been busy exploring the exciting world of bugs and ocean animals through a range of hands-on learning experiences. They had lots of sensory fun playing with blue chia slime, sparking conversations about the ocean and its fascinating creatures. The children also created beautiful finger-painted backgrounds for their bug homes, which they are looking forward to decorating this week.

To strengthen their fine motor skills, the children carefully cut dried autumn leaves and enjoyed scooping and pouring activities using tubes. These experiences help develop hand strength, coordination and concentration while encouraging exploration through play.

Our active learners have also been building their gross motor skills by climbing up and down the climbing frame. This has helped them practise balance, coordination, confidence and body awareness in a safe and supportive environment.

We are so proud of the friendships they are building, the new skills they are developing, and the joy they bring to our classroom each day. We look forward to another week of exciting discoveries and adventures together!

Year Two students showed great creativity as they designed and decorated their own animal masks. Alongside the art component, they explored a variety of Italian and English adjectives, experimenting with how different words can describe appearance, personality, and movement. Their confidence in using new vocabulary has grown beautifully.

A highlight in Year Three has been the way students used Seesaw to record and share short descriptions of themselves and their classmates. This activity encouraged careful listening, clear pronunciation, and thoughtful sentence construction. Their enthusiasm and uwillingness to speak in Italian made these sessions especially enjoyable.

By adding an Italian twist—such as using Italian instructions, vocabulary challenges, or cultural references—students strengthened their recall and fluency while having plenty of fun working together.

We were also fortunate to have the WAFL visit our school to deliver an AFL incursion. This was a fantastic opportunity for students to learn from experienced coaches, refine their skills, and engage in fun, high-quality activities. The session was thoroughly enjoyed by all involved. Looking ahead, we are excited to welcome the NRL, who will be running a Rugby incursion in Week 11, giving students another opportunity to deepen their understanding of the game.
