Joining the DOTS…

Tanya Vaughan, Deputy Principal - Head of Primary

Thank you for being part of our DOT week finale, as together we celebrated the creative symphonies that were enjoyed by our primary students last week. It was wonderful to watch performances, visit static displays and witness a thriving community as families gathered to celebrate the DOTS, the courage and the joy found in a week of learning new things, stepping out of comfort zones and developing talents.

Our staff were incredible, bringing our creative symphonies to life as they shared personal passions and interests through workshops and electives. Friday's showcase was a celebration for them too, delighting in seeing the DOTS join together, as students rose to the challenge of trying something new.

A week like that doesn’t just happen, and without a team to join the DOTS together, it wouldn’t be nearly as fun or as successful as it was! The DOT week committee spent time carefully considering each DOT and championed our staff as they worked together to see the DOTS create a symphony  of praise, creativity and celebration.

Special thanks go to a few BIG DOTS…Jude Shields and Harry Foster for leading the team and making the first DOT appear. Jo Bryant, a champion of all things DOTTY and logistics, worked incredibly hard to see that every I was DOTTED, and no DOT overlooked. Jane Nyholm and her trusty partners in sales, Gloria Li and Eric Lau, whipped up a DOTTY storm at the Scholastic book fair, with a roaring trade over the 2 days. To FOD who supported hungry DOTS on Friday with food trucks and sausage sizzles, thank you. And of course, to our incredible Maintenance Team who built and moved DOTS and SPOTS, we appreciate the way they serve behind the scenes so faithfully.

As Term 3 now really gets underway with familiar routines in place, we know that DOT week is simply the beginning of what is to come. As the DOTS are joined together, we look forward to developing Godly GRIT as talents are developed, character grown and rich, deep learning enjoyed through a variety of authentic and rigorous classroom experiences.

The symphony of praise rings loudly as we give thanks to God for blessing us with creative minds to think and hearts to see Him ultimately join the DOTS together in each individual student, and across our whole school community.
