Dare to Dream - Musical Production

Last week, more than 70 Junior School students took to the stage across three performances of Dare to Dream JR. It was a wonderful celebration of the talent and creativity of our students.

The commitment and enthusiasm of the entire cast was evident throughout each performance. The students performed with pride and confidence, supporting one another and truly shining on stage. 

A production of this scale is the result of many months of preparation. Our sincere thanks go to the dedicated production team: Olivia Walsh, Michelle Revelant, Louise Phegan, Sam Bellerose, Eleanor Pearson, Genevieve Turnbull and Mitch Clarke, whose creativity, expertise and countless hours of work brought the production to life.

We also gratefully acknowledge the many staff and senior students who supported rehearsals and performances.

Congratulations to every student involved in Dare to Dream JR. It was a joy to see you step into the spotlight and share such a memorable production with our College community.

ICAS

Over the past four weeks, 94 students from Years 2–6 have participated in the 2026 International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS Assessments) across Digital Technologies, Writing, English, Science, Spelling and Mathematics.

ICAS provides students with the opportunity to challenge themselves academically, applying higher-order thinking and problem-solving skills in unfamiliar contexts.

We congratulate all students who chose to take on this challenge and look forward to recognising their achievements when results are released next term.

Student Progress Meetings - Monday 31 August

A reminder that Student Progress Meetings will be held on Monday 31 August. This day will be a student-free day, allowing teachers dedicated time to meet with students and families to discuss learning progress, celebrate growth, and establish goals for the remainder of the year.

For students in Years 3-6, we strongly encourage attendance alongside parents and carers. Student involvement in these conversations promotes ownership of learning and allows students to reflect on their achievements, challenges, and future goals.

For students in Kindergarten to Year 2, attendance is optional and not expected, with meetings primarily focused on discussion between parents and teachers.

VEX Robotics Competition

On Tuesday 1 September, students involved in our Junior School VEX Robotics co-curricular group will participate in an exciting VEX Robotics Competition hosted at our school, where they will compete against teams from other schools in a series of robotics challenges. 

This event is the culmination of their hard work throughout the term, during which they have designed, built and programmed robots in preparation for the big day. Working in teams, students will apply their STEM knowledge in a real-world competition setting, demonstrating engineering, coding and strategic thinking under pressure. 

It’s a high-energy, hands-on experience that celebrates their innovation, perseverance and teamwork in a fun and rewarding way. Thank you Mrs Steinhauser for organising this opportunity and we wish our VEX Robotics team every success!

Year 3 Camp

Next Thursday, 3 September, our Year 3 students will embark on an exciting milestone as they head to Borambola Sport and Recreation Centre for their first overnight school camp.

For many students, this will be a much-anticipated opportunity to step outside their usual routines, try new activities and enjoy time with their friends and teachers in a different environment. Camp experiences provide wonderful opportunities for students to build independence, resilience and confidence, while strengthening friendships and learning to work together.

We wish our Year 3 students and accompanying staff a safe, enjoyable and memorable first camp and look forward to hearing about their adventures when they return!

French

Our French learning is coming along beautifully - this term, students are focusing on Seasons & Weather, and Food & Meals! I am enjoying discussing these topics in French with our wonderful students.

Please continue to encourage your child to use LanguageNut to practise their French vocabulary. Our Term 3 LanguageNut competition is running, with students from years 3-6 in our current Top 10. Don't forget this is still running - the below results can still change!
