YEAR 7 ART SPOTLIGHT - CHUCK CLOSE PORTRAITS!

This term, our talented Year 7 students took on the incredible challenge of studying iconic American artist Chuck Close and his unique artistic approach. Using his larger-than-life portraits as inspiration, students explored his life, techniques, and creative achievements before putting pencil to paper to create impressive portraits of their own.

From tiny grids to bold tones and thoughtful detail, students really stepped into the shoes of Close and discovered how patience and precision can transform simple marks into extraordinary artworks. The results? A gallery of amazing portraits that showcase skill, creativity, and a deeper appreciation for one of art’s modern masters!
