School Council 

This week Katrina Walker, School Council President, was interviewed by ABC Melbourne Drive host Ali Moore. A wide range of issues were discussed- referred to by Ali as the ’trifecta of issues’ faced by South Melbourne Park Primary School - from the self-funding of building classroom walls and doors, the future self-funding plan for air conditioning and the multitude of issues incurred as a result of the Grand Prix.

Most of the Grand Prix issues we face were addressed in the discussion, from the forced 2-day shut down, to the zero compensation we receive, to the child safety and security issues that are exacerbated for the entire 16-week Grand Prix bump in to bump out.

The ABC is planning to follow up with both the Vic Department of Education and the Australian Grand Prix regarding the issues raised in the interview.
