JUNIOR SHOWCASE - SAVE THE DATE!

Families of Preps, Grade 1s and Grade 2s, you are invited to watch the Performing Arts Junior Showcase on Wednesday 26th March in the gym. The showcase will run between 12.30 and 3.30pm, and soon you will be given a specific time that your child(ren) will be performing.

The showcase is a casual open lesson in Performing Arts - a chance for the junior students to experience performing for an audience this year (as there is no whole school production). You will see the skills that we develop across Prep to Two by way of games, songs and activities.

Save the date and watch this space!

🌎✨ Exploring Spain with Señor Toni! ✨🌎

Hola, familias!

This week, our Grade Prep and Grade 1 students learned all about Spain—the home country of our Spanish teacher Señor Toni! They discovered fun facts about Spanish culture, language, and traditions.

To celebrate, they created beautiful Spanish flags to take home. Ask your child about the colours and symbols on the flag—they’re so proud of their work!

¡Gracias to our students for their enthusiasm! 👏

Hasta luego,

Señor Toni

STEM NEWS

Year 5 and 6 have been learning about electricity

In our first lesson, students explored how a city's electricity is derived from natural resources such as coal, sunlight, wind and water. They investigated how using these different energy sources affects the environment. In the activity, Power this Town, students obtained and combined information about different types of renewable energy and evaluated the advantages and disadvantages of each energy source.

In our second lesson students investigated how electrical energy requires a circuit and made their own mini flashlights from LEDs, button batteries, and strips of copper. Along the way, they learned about the anatomy of a battery, began to see how circuits work and discovered how handy an on-off switch can be.

Year 3 have been learning about forces

Students have been learning to think about pushes and pulls and how they can accomplish extraordinary things! In the activity, Hopper Popper, students made a folded piece of cardboard jump high in the air, propelled by the pulling force of a rubber band. They discussed the forces involved in making this “Hopper Popper” jump.
