 Reader’s and Writer’s workshop

We have continued exploring animal classifications through our Unit of Inquiry, How We Organise Ourselves.

In Reader’s and Writer’s workshop we are researching invertebrates and practicing our note taking skills. We will then turn our notes into paragraphs.

Mathematics: We continue to explore fractions as part of a whole, using concrete materials and real-life experiences to consolidate understanding.

Unit of Inquiry: In our Unit of Inquiry, How We Organise Ourselves, students are learning about classification and how people organise information, objects, and living things into groups based on shared characteristics. This week, we continue to explore properties of rocks and minerals.

Books week- book swap

Instead of having a book fair we have decided to participate in the Great Book Swap in support of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF). Students/families will be invited to donate pre-loved books in good condition and on a day of the swap, bring a gold coin donation to exchange for a book to take home. All funds raised will go directly to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, this money helps to provide books and literacy resources to children in remote indigenous communities across Australia. More information will be coming soon.
